Creation of sustainable energy investment projects
2023-2026
The European City Facility (EUCF) aims to support municipalities and local governments in developing investment concepts related to the implementation of their climate and energy measures. EUCF's goal is to create a significant number of sustainable energy investment projects in various municipalities in Europe.

Safeguarding biodiversity by increasing know-how

The goal of the LUMOA real estate management project is to train people working in the real estate management industry to take biodiversity into account and protect the personnel, including by increasing the skills of seasonal staff and persons working in managerial positions.

Promoting the circular economy
2022-2026
The goal of the TREASoURcE project is to promote the circular economy with the help of regional pilots. The project develops and tests new solutions for the utilization of plastic waste, the reuse of electric car batteries and bio-waste and side streams in cooperation with companies, communities and experts. The project is coordinated by the Technology Research Center VTT and involves 17 partners from the Nordic countries, the Baltics and Poland.

Promoting the circular economy
2022-2024
The CIRGREEN project aims at increasing the skills related to circular economy in public procurement in European municipalities. During the project, the understanding and needs of local authorities on circular economy are mapped and guidelines are compiled for increasing circular public procurement in municipalities. The project combats climate change by increasing the circular economy related skills of local authorities through education.

Development of bicycle tourism in Satakunta
2022-2024
The 100Bike project is a collaborative project whose goal is to coordinate and unify the implementation of development activities related to bicycle tourism in Satakunta. The project supports the province's tourism companies and other bicycle tourism operators in the development of services aimed at bicycle tourists, for example by improving operators' knowledge of bicycle tourism and sustainable tourism.

Sustainable food belongs to everyone!
2021-2024
The European FUSILLI project supports participating cities and urban areas in the global challenges of food systems, towards healthy, sustainable, safe, inclusive, equitable and cost-effective food systems. During the project period (1/2021-12/2024), a living laboratory for sustainable food systems, a living lab, will be built in Tampere, where innovations and experiments are at the center.

Games for a sustainable future
We develop new mobile game concepts and game prototypes and implement games for a sustainable future. We cooperate with TAMK's game studio, among others. The starting point of our games is that all games are free and the income from the games is only used to promote sustainable development. The themes of the games are e.g. biodiversity, energy efficiency, circular economy and well-being.

Towards responsible experiences

The goal of the KOVA project was to promote the ability to change and responsibility of the personnel, management, entrepreneurs and self-employed people of companies operating in the experience economy of Pirkanmaa by providing guidance and training.

Growth from the circular economy

The core of the KIERTO - Kiertotaloudesta kasvua project was to increase circular economy know-how and circular economy business and to develop the intersection of labor demand and supply. The project develops circular economy-related employment paths for young people in a weak labor market position, supports the identification of the business potential of companies and organizations in the circular economy, and develops tools for transitioning to a circular economy business.

Innovative digital solutions for the circular economy

The aim of the KIRI project was to promote the capabilities, know-how and ability to change of the personnel, management, entrepreneurs and self-employed of micro- and small-sized enterprises practicing circular economy business in the consumer interface of Pirkanmaa by providing guidance, advice and training for better utilization of the opportunities offered by the circular economy in a rapidly changing operating environment.

Puuosaamista Pirkanmaalle
2021-2022
In the project Puuosaamista Pirkanmaalle, in cooperation with micro and SME companies, the training needs of the field of wood construction were investigated and the field's training offer is developed, taking into account all levels of educational institutions. The University of Tampere, Tampere University of Applied Sciences and the Tampere region's vocational college Tredu put together training packages, which the companies' staff tested in pilot trainings.

Treenaamo – young people on a sustainable career path
2021-2022
Treenaamo - young people for a sustainable career path was a project financed by the European Social Fund, which seeks sustainable career paths for working life, studies or entrepreneurship for young people aged 18–29 living in the Tampere urban area through versatile training. The project's measures are aimed at young people who are without a job or study place or are long-term unemployed.

Pyhä-Näsi -Routes as life force of tourism in Pirkanmaa
2021-2022
The goal of the project was to respond to the need by developing the route network into a business platform that serves rural tourism companies and other businesses linked to it even more widely and strengthens regional vitality.

Urb-En Pact
2019-2022
The Urb-En Pact project, financed by the EU's URBACT program, explores the possibilities of Tampere becoming a net zero energy region, which is the goal of the entire EU by 2050.

Solutions for future housing and movement needs
2020-2022
In the Jakajat project, new models of living and movement based on sharing were created through practical experiments. With the help of experiments, it was found out what kind of sharing economy services and business models the new practices could spread as widely as possible.

Synergy Audit – SYAT

In the struggle for a decrease of most negative environmental impact and thereby a possible slowing down of the speed of the global climate change, there are today directives and policies at European and global level which invites countries, organisations and individuals to reduce negative environmental impact. Public and private sectors on a global scale are today working toward a decrease of their organisations negative environmental impact, by i.e. becoming environmentally certified following environmental standards.

Kivat – Action models for accelerating municipal climate actions
2020-2021
In the KIVAT project, six operating models for accelerating municipal climate actions were created for use by municipalities.

KIERTO – Circular economy functional learning environments
2020-2021
KIERTO - The functional learning environments of the circular economy project sought new work around the circular economy by developing the skills of unemployed job seekers to meet the needs of employers. The eco-partners work in the project in the role of experts in sustainable development, developing e.g. trainings and services promoting the circular economy.

KARE – Resource-efficient maintenance of residential properties
2019-2021
In the project, additional training was organized for property managers regarding the energy efficiency of renovation construction and digital services. The project supports lifelong learning.

PIHI – Pirkanmaa's low-carbon membrane solutions
2018-2021
In the PIHI - Pirkanmaa low-carbon film solutions project, more ecological material solutions were developed for film-like plastic products, e.g. for the food, packaging and toilet paper sectors. The project also created a fast and versatile research and product development environment for companies, so that it will be easier to develop and bring low-carbon products to the market in the future.

Kestävän matkailun hub
2018-2020
The goal of the Sustainable Tourism Hub project was to make the Särkänniemi area one of the visible drivers of the city's low-carbon work in the field of tourism. In the two-year project, a concentrated and open development platform for low-carbon tourism services was built in the Särkänniemi area.

Lakesperience
2018-2020
The goal of the Lakesperience project was to connect the lakes of Tampere (Finland), Linköping (Sweden), Tartu (Estonia) and Burtnieku (Latvia) as a common tourist destination. The project offered lake tourism companies the opportunity to develop their services in all seasons.

EKAT – Energy-wise cities
2018-2020
The goal of the 6Aika Energy-Smart Cities project, funded by the EU's European Regional Development Fund and the Uusimaa Union, was to raise 6Aika cities to international example areas in energy-efficient living, zero-energy construction, implementing a diverse energy system, monitoring energy efficiency and guiding users.

Sorvaamo project – Professional support service for maintenance repairs
2018-2020
The Sorvaamo project promoted a conservative method of renovation construction, trained employees and helped the target group of unemployed people to find employment in the field.

YLENNYS-Project
2018-2019
The project provided training and the services of experts for the implementation of the environmental system in SMEs and events.

CircHubs – Circular economy centers of the future
2018-2019
CircHubs, Circular Economy Centers of the Future project developed circular economy centers in 6 Aika cities. Ecopartners developed control methods and criteria to guide the circular economy of house construction in Hiedanranta. In addition, Tampere's building stock was examined as a bank of materials and alternatives for utilizing demolition materials were mapped.

Lake Nature Center Finland
2017-2019
"Järviluontokeskus - Lake Nature Center Finland" was the government's flagship water tourism project, where a new kind of service and business model was prepared for a centrally located lake and nature center. The project was targeted and coordinated from Tampere, but the results can be duplicated in terms of goals.

Hierakka
2017-2019
Food is a necessary part of society and food production requires a steady flow of nutrients. In the project, we brought the farmer's experiences and everyday life closer to the consumer and communicated the importance of the nutrient cycle in everyone's everyday life.

Preliminary report on the establishment of the Terälahti biogas plant
2016-2017
In the project, it was found out whether there would be conditions for a biogas plant in the area. During the project, we also looked at what kind of digestible biomasses can be found in the area - based on the information obtained, a realistic technical potential was calculated.

Ystäväkylä brought the villages and the city closer, e.g. promoting the food, tourism and cultural services of the surrounding areas in 2013-2014.

Mobility guidance counseling promoted multi-faceted muscular mobility, public transport and carpooling 2012-2015.

The Tampere building culture advisory and training center project, or TRKK, fosters building culture in Pirkanmaa 2012-2014. The construction culture center Piiru continues the work.

Puhtaat vedet
2012-2013
Clean waters as a resource of Pirkanmaa preliminary study (2012-2013) highlighted water bodies also as an economic and social resource. The work continues in the form of the Lake Nature Center.

We promoted the introduction of local renewable energy in the rural areas of the Tampere region in 2011-2012.

We received 49 certified "talkkaria", additional training and several new "talkkari" entrepreneurs in Pirkanmaa.
